Traditional Latin Mass at St. Mary's (1962 Missal)

Every first and third Friday of the month, at 7:30 p.m., St. Mary’s offers the Mass according to the Roman Missal of 1962. This form of Mass is also known as the “Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite,” the “Mass of Blessed John XXIII,” the “Tridentine Mass” or the “Traditional Latin Mass.” This celebration will normally be a “Low Mass” with a schola or cantor. All are invited to participate in this Mass. For more information on this form of Mass, visit  www.sanctamissa.org.

Baptism

Every Sunday at 2:15 p.m. Please call the Rectory at 703-836-4100 to register in advance, and to obtain regulations concerning godparents, etc.

Baptism classes are held on the first Thursday of every month at 7:30 p.m. in the St. Joseph’s Room of the St. Mary’s Lyceum for those having a child baptized at St. Mary’s. These classes are required for your first child. No prior registration is necessary, just sign-in upon your arrival.

Adults interested in being Baptised should enroll in the RCIA program.

Penance (Confessions)

Saturday 4 - 5 p.m., 7 - 7:30 p.m.
Thursday 7:30 p.m. (during Holy Hour)
First Saturday 8:30 a.m. (during Holy Hour)

Eucharist

See the Mass schedule above. Those who are physically unable to attend Mass may call the Rectory at (703) 836-4100 to arrange a visit by a minister of Holy Communion.

Students of of St. Mary's School and CCD programs make their First Communion in the second grade. Contact the Director of Religious Education at (703) 836-5450 for more information.

Adults interested in receiving First Communion should enroll in the RCIA program.

Confirmation

Confirmation is conferred on eighth grade students of St. Mary's School and CCD programs. Contact the Director of Religious Education at (703) 836-5450 for more information.

Adults interested in being Confirmed should enroll in the RCIA program.

Matrimony

Contact a parish priest at least six months before the possible wedding date. Couples who are living together will be asked to live separately during the marriage preparation time.

Attendance at a wedding music seminar is also strongly encouraged. For information on seasonal flower arrangements and floral restricitions, please contact the Mary Martha Guild.
